Study: College Grads Better Off Than Non-College Peers in Recession
There’s a narrative that’s plagued college students during the recession: the college grad with thousands of dollars in student loan debt, desperately struggling to find a job.
It’s a narrative that’s made us question the value of a college degree. But, new research from the Pew Center shows that this construction might be a myth. College grads have fared much better in the recession than their non-degree peers, and in fact, employment rates among this group only dropped a few percentage points during the recession.
