Politics As Usual — 10.15.12

Pres. Obama is under great pressure to pull off a career debate performance Tuesday night at Hofstra University in New York. Recent polls show Gov. Mitt Romney with a slight edge in the race.
The saying goes you don't get a second chance to make a first impression. Pres. Obama is sure hoping that's not the case as he furiously preps for a second debate against challenger Mitt Romney. Obama aides promise a feisty candidate Tuesday at Hofstra University, but Mitt Romney's staff say it's too little, too late.
Their candidate is hard at work in Boston campaign headquarters, getting in extra reps for what could be a decisive meeting of the two Harvard men.
Shannon O'Brien and Charlie Baker join Emily Rooney today to do a curtain-raiser, of sorts, for the second presidential debate. They also talk through the latest in Sen. Scott Brown's effort to hold off challenger Elizabeth Warren.
GUESTS:
- Charlie Baker, former Republican candidate for governor, and entrepreneur-in-residence at General Catalyst Partners.
- Shannon O'Brien, former Massachusetts state treasurer and Democratic candidate for governor.
