Greater Boston Video: GOP State Rep. Dan Winslow Forms Exploratory Committee for U.S. Senate Run

State Rep. Dan Winslow (R-Norfolk) announced this morning he will form an exploratory committee for a possible run for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Secretary of State John Kerry. 

“Today I’m taking the necessary steps to form an exploratory committee to test the waters for the U.S. Senate," Winslow said in a statement. "We need to fix a broken Washington where progress is being hampered by partisan gridlock. If we continue to elect the same Washington politicians, we can not expect different results. The people of Massachusetts and all Americans deserve solutions from their elected officials. Washington needs to focus on problem solving and implement ideas that will create jobs and grow our economy.”

The announcement comes a day after several prominent Republicans announced they would not run, including  former Gov. Bill Weld, former Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey, former state Sen. Richard Tisei, and Tagg Romney, the son of former Gov. Mitt Romney.
