'From Bach to Björk' with the Boston String Players
Talking about "classical music" might evoke images of stuffy auditoriums, suit-and-tie audiences of a certain age, and delicate music written by long-dead composers in serious white powdered wigs.
In a city like Boston there's no shortage of good music, which begs the question: if you want a good show, why bother hearing classical music anymore?
Well, one group is trying something different. Boston String Players are young, they're playing music in new and unexpected settings, and they're gunning for a similarly young and plugged-in audience.
Boston String Players have a new show Friday night at the Museum of Fine Arts, and it's called From Bach to Bjork.
GUEST
- Motoki Tanaka, conductor and founder of Boston String Players.
- Jasmine Hagans, manager of lectures, courses and concerts at the MFA.
