30 Issues Discussion: Rhode Island's Economy
By Boston Public Radio Staff
The issue of jobs has been top of mind for most voters this election season. We learned this morning that unemployment here in the Bay State rose slightly from 6.3 to 6.5 percent last month. That’s still well below the national average of 7.8 percent — and nothing compared to our neighbors in Rhode Island, where they continue to struggle with an unemployment rate of nearly 11 percent.
As part of our 30 issues in 30 days coverage we turn our attention now to the ocean state and the effort of one organization to turn things around there.
GUEST:
- Neil Steinberg: President and CEO of the Rhode Island Foundation
